The Amara Interior Blog Awards; WE ARE IN THE FINALS!!

Hello everyone, I have some news… have you guessed it yet?

This may be the most excited typing I’ve ever done, so please excuse my rambling. I’M JUST. SO. EXCITED!!

Interior blog awards

When I found out that I had been nominated for the Interior Blog Awards, I was over the moon. I had only started the blog in January 2017, with the expectation that it would hit a handful of people who may be interested in what I’m doing. If I could do that, then great! To think that I would be nominated for an award 6 months later, would have been a crazy dream. In that time I had been featured in Apartment Therapy twice… once for a table makeover (here) and the second time, for my bedroom (here), and even made it into Swedish Elle Decoration with my Billy Bookcase Hack! (here). All of these things were way beyond my expectations and, though it may sound funny to some, events that I had deemed WAAAAAY out of my league, and wouldn’t happen to me. But they happened.

So, to find myself in the finals of the Amara Interior Blog Awards… it’s still sinking in! Me? Really??

I don’t have a big blog following (though I have a bloody brilliant one!) and I’m very much a part-timer compared to many. So I’m still processing the fact that out of 43 International bloggers… I’m one of the 6 finalists!

Interior Blog Awards

In my eyes, I have one person to thank for this. You. You made this happen. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart. That’s why the title reads ‘we’… cos it’s your award too!

To be able to display the blog awards ‘Finalist’ badge on DesignSixtyNine is unreal. This, for me, is my end goal. Any  further is a dream bonus. Now that the voting stage is over, it’s down to judges votes. To win, would be amazing. But in my eyes, I’ve already won…cos my little blog following got me here. Not tens of thousands… just 500!! You guys rock!!

The next stage is the Finals night at The Design Museum in London. Flights and hotel have literally just been booked and I cannot wait to meet some  of my fellow bloggers on October 25th.

Next dilemma… What the fuck do I wear??

    1. Wow! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely, thoughtful comment. It really means a lot and really makes me want to blog even more!

I do hope that folk give things a go. I’m very much of the ‘try it and see’ school. If the end result isn’t what you wanted, but you enjoyed the process… then it wasn’t a waste of time. 🙂

      Thank you again!

  5. Well done Malcolm. You totally deserve this after the beautiful job you’ve made of your home. Good luck in the final🤞Xxx

  6. Hello Malcolm,

Congratulations for being in the finals of The Amara Interior Blog Awards. I’ve only been receiving your blog for a short time but am very impressed with your designs and imagination. And also, you are very handsome. Your blog and your ideas are so classy but did you have to use the f…..word? Not needed with a beautiful blog like yours. Good luck in the finals!

    1. Hi marcey, thank you very much for messaging! I’m delighted you’re enjoying the blog. As for handsome, thank you, but I’d disagree haha!!
Unfortunately, the F-bomb will be dropped from time to time… as I write exactly how I talk. Hopefully you can overlook the occasional profanity 🙂
