Last Minute High Street Stocking Fillers For The Home

This entire year, I feel, has been spent chasing my tail. December is no exception. I seem to have gone from being super-organised, to ‘HOW HAVE I MANAGED TO ACHIEVE NOTHING’ within a matter of hours. So it seems fitting that this post follows the same vein. Last Minute High Street Stocking Fillers For The Home, serves to act as your guide to bump up your present game, when there is no time left for delivery. If you feel you are lacking that ‘one last bit’ then maybe it’s hiding in here. Each item has been chosen, not only because it is pretty, but also useful. If you’re fussy (like me), you may have exacting expectations for your home décor. Some pieces are simple, some are fun, but all can be displayed proudly, or ‘enjoyed’ discretely… no matter what your style.

*Important Message* As much as I love the High Street, try your local independent retailers as well. You are likely to find some fab individual pieces that’ll have everyone wondering where you shop. Also, you’ll be supporting people directly. Christmas sparkly feelings for everyone!

Last Minute High Street Stocking Fillers For The Home1- Whether a lover of faux or real plants, a stylish planter, if it has a little something to it, can make a lovely gift. The Abuo Purple Round Ceramic Plant Pot, £16 from Oliver Bonas looks handmade and the little quirky feet elevate it (literally!) to cute gift status.

2- Or how about the Abuo Blue Ceramic Handle Plant Pot, £12 from Oliver Bonas, with it’s little loop handles. Love it.

3- Sticking with the handmade theme, this Round Wooden Mirror, £17.99 from H&M looks like it has been carved from a single piece of wood with a very tactile little loop. Prop on a shelf, or hang on the wall to admire your pretty face.

4- Everyone can use a picture frame, and these simple metal photo frames, £8.99 from H&M are timeless. Maybe you could fill it with a picture of your pretty face? Who wouldn’t want that?!

5- I have recently fallen in love with reed diffusers. This clean simple style would work in any room and the vessel is so pretty up close. Raine and Humble Cotton Triple Scented Diffuser, £19.60 from Debenhams. Also available in Jasmine and Magnolia, and Guava and Fig.

6- If there is one thing I desperately need, it’s a decent bottle opener. How do I manage to lose them?! Maybe if they were as pretty as this beauty Marbled Stone Dust Bottle Opener £14 Oliver Bonas, I’d be more careful with it.

7- Alternatively, have it mounted like this totally OTT Tiger Wall Hanging Bottle Opener £24, again from Oliver Bonas. I love him. I would even drink more beer just to see his face.

8- The colour of this Clear Glass Carafe in Pink, £12.99 from H&M is stunning. It comes in clear too, but the pink gives me love heart eyes. It would make a great bedside water carafe.

9- H&M is my absolute favourite homeware store at the moment. I bought this Tall Bubbled Vase, £17.99, a few weeks back and just love the colour and texture. For me, it’s one of those ‘should I buy another in case it breaks?’ things. That’s how much I love it. It adds just enough ‘quirk’.

10- Scented candles. The gift that keeps on giving. Now, I cannot say what this one smells like… but I wouldn’t care because LOOK AT THAT POT! Of all the stocking fillers, I think this may be my favourite. Scented Candle In Holder/Lilac Blossom, £8.99, H&M.

11- If you’re a fan of cocktails, then you’ll be a fan of this beautiful Iko Scalloped Cocktail Shaker £24 from Oliver Bonas. How amazing would this look on display?!

12- Matalan has come up trumps with these Marble Alphabet Coasters. At £3 each, these are much cheaper than the designer alternatives. Spell out how you feel about someone in a nice set of four…

13- If you think someone is okay, tell them with this Gold Hand Sculpture, £8 from Next.

14- Buying a set of three of these simple Silver Coloured Metal Candlesticks, £6.99 from H&M would make a stylish and very useful present, though one in the bottom of a Christmas stocking would be just as cute. Or a weapon… up to you.

15- If they love interiors, then they will love looking at pretty pictures of other people’s interiors. A book will never go wrong. 100 Interiors Around The World, £15, from Waterstones

16- They might even love abandoned interiors, like me… Lost Interiors by Michael Kerrigan, £20, Waterstones.

Although I’ve called these ‘stocking fillers’, some of these would make great stand-alone presents. Remember, it’s the thought behind the gift that counts.
